Marcus Arduini Monzo allegedly attacked a young boy on his way to school by slashing him in the neck and chest. Additionally, the 36-year-old is accused of harming four other individuals, including two police officers, during five separate incidents within a 20-minute timeframe in Hainault on April 30.

Recently, Monzo appeared at the Old Bailey for a preliminary hearing before Judge Mark Lucraft KC. Dressed in a grey tracksuit, the dual Spanish-Brazilian national living in Newham confirmed his identity and birth date during the court proceedings. Judge Lucraft established a timeline for the case, scheduling a plea hearing on July 23 and a tentative three-week trial at the Old Bailey starting on February 3 next year. Monzo has been remanded in custody.

According to reports, Monzo is said to have crashed a van into a fence and attacked the victim, Daniel, causing severe injuries. Tragically, the young boy succumbed to sharp force trauma to the head as a result of the attack. Monzo allegedly continued his violent spree by assaulting others, ultimately leading to his arrest.

The defendant faces charges of murder, attempted murder, and causing grievous bodily harm, among other offenses. In response to the devastating loss of their son, Daniel’s parents expressed their profound grief and appreciation for the outpouring of support from the community. A vigil was held to honor Daniel, bringing together over 300 individuals to commemorate his memory.
