Pulse continued their winning streak with a dominant 76-50 victory over Team Bath at the Copper Box Arena following a narrow 45-43 win against Saracen Mavericks. This win marked their highest-scoring home victory to date. Coach Bird expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, noting the competitive nature of the matches against both rivals.
The game against Team Bath provided an opportunity for Nicholé Taljaard to make a significant contribution, with the attack play being particularly impressive. Pulse’s solid transition to goal was highlighted, showcasing their strength in offense. Furthermore, the match saw all 12 players getting game time, including Isla May who had a successful debut.
With this fifth consecutive win, Pulse advanced to third place in the standings, overtaking Stars after their loss to Manchester Thunder. Looking ahead, Pulse is eager to face Stars again, with Bird acknowledging their physicality but expressing confidence in Pulse’s current form and readiness to maintain their winning streak.
Defending champions Loughborough Lightning retained their second-place position, securing a 68-60 victory over Saracens Mavericks. Surrey Storm claimed fifth place with a 58-55 win against Cardiff Dragons under the guidance of coach Mikki Austin. In other results, Leeds Rhinos defeated Strathclyde Sirens 55-44 and will face Pulse in a special ‘home’ game at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on May 4.
