Emergency services responded to a call at the River Colne just before 6.40 pm yesterday. Firefighters used water equipment to rescue two boys, aged 11 and 15, from the water. The boys were subsequently transported to the hospital by London Ambulance Service for treatment, and their current conditions remain unknown. One man was able to exit the water before the firefighters arrived and declined medical assistance. The entire incident was resolved by the firefighters before 8.40 pm.
The scene was attended by two fire engines from Heathrow and Hayes, as well as rescue units from Wembley and Bethnal Green. Further details have been sought from London Ambulance Service regarding the incident.
According to a spokesperson from London Fire Brigade, it is crucial to call 999 immediately when witnessing someone in distress in the water. Providing an accurate location and keeping an eye on the last known location of the individual in trouble is essential. In a statement, London Fire Brigade confirmed that their crews utilized water rescue equipment to aid in the rescue of the two boys. Both boys were then taken to the hospital by London Ambulance Service for medical attention. Another adult man managed to exit the water independently before the arrival of the Brigade and declined any medical aid.
