Freddie was last seen leaving Albert Square to spend more time with his mum, Little Mo Slater (Kacey Ainsworth), following his release on bail after an altercation with stalker Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis). This story arc was designed to allow Bobby Brazier to participate in the 2023 series of Strictly Come Dancing and other major projects.

Big Mo, who left Walford after Kat’s failed wedding to Phil Mitchell in 2022, has been absent for an extended period. Introduced as the grandmother of Kat (Jessie Wallace) alongside the Slater family in 2000, Big Mo remained a fixture on the BBC soap opera until 2012, making sporadic appearances in subsequent years.

In the upcoming episodes of EastEnders, Alfie Moon (played by Shane Richie) encounters intruders in his home, only to discover that it’s Freddie and Mo returning. While the family welcomes them back with open arms, Freddie faces the challenge of moving into the already crowded No. 31 as Kay and her kids now reside in No. 5D.

As rumors of a reunion between Kat and Alfie circulate among the residents, Freddie considers giving them a chance. Additionally, Freddie is hinted to encounter relationship challenges of his own, particularly as he witnesses Bobby Beale (Clay Milner-Russell) and Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) sharing a kiss outside the Vic. Both boys had expressed interest in Anna in the past, but after discovering their familial connection, she chose to pursue a relationship with Freddie.
