Nizar Msaad, residing in Dalrymple Close, was one of two individuals who admitted to participating in a series of robberies on October 1, 2022. Along with his partner, 26-year-old Shaquille Allen, Msaad utilized a moped to target individuals wearing high-value watches. Armed with machetes, they physically assaulted and ran over their victims during a two-hour crime spree.

The pair confessed to committing three attempted robberies within a 35-minute timeframe that began just after 8 pm on Audley Street, Orchard Street, and Frith Street. The initial incident occurred on Audley Street, where a man was accosted by Msaad and Allen while riding the moped. The victim was pushed to the ground, menaced with a machete, and pressured to surrender his watch. Prompt intervention from a pub employee led to the perpetrators fleeing the scene on their moped. The victim, who escaped injury, departed before law enforcement arrived and was never located.

Subsequently, at 9:30 pm, a man was robbed of his Rolex on Mortimer Street, followed by another Rolex theft in Provost Street 15 minutes later that resulted in a minor hand injury. Following reports from four victims, an official investigation was initiated by the police. The culprits were identified through CCTV footage capturing them removing their helmets. Moreover, DNA discovered on the moped was linked back to Msaad and Allen.

Msaad was sentenced to 40 months in prison at Wood Green Crown Court on May 3. Allen, without a fixed address, received an identical term at the same court on May 7, accompanied by a 54-month sentence for a separate offense. Both individuals had previously pleaded guilty to two robbery charges and three attempted robbery charges.

Detective Constable Mike Bagnall of the Metropolitan Police emphasized the severity of the crimes, labeling them as violent attacks against unsuspecting individuals in central London. He expressed gratitude that no severe injuries had occurred during these reckless incidents and commended the successful resolution that removed these dangerous individuals from the community.
