36-year-old Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo, residing in the E16 postcode, is scheduled to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (May 2) to face accusations of murdering Daniel Anjorin. Monzo is also facing charges of two counts of attempted murder, two counts of grievous bodily harm, aggravated burglary, and possession of a bladed article in connection with an incident that occurred yesterday morning, resulting in serious injuries to four individuals, including two police officers.
Authorities have notified the families of those involved in the incident. Daniel, who was a student at Bancroft’s School in Woodford Green, was described by the school as a “gentle character” and a “true scholar”. The school expressed deep sorrow over his tragic death.
Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith, heading the investigation, highlighted the complexities involved due to multiple crime scenes, forensic evidence, extensive CCTV footage, and numerous witnesses to interview. Smith urged for patience as the investigation progresses to bring justice to Daniel, his family, the injured, and the community. He extended gratitude to individuals who provided dashcam, doorbell, and mobile phone footage, as well as witnesses contributing crucial information to assist the investigation.
