Emergency services were alerted to Worcester Avenue in Tottenham at 5.50 am on April 7 in response to a report of an unresponsive man. Upon arrival, they discovered Okechukwu Iweha, aged 46, with stab wounds. Despite CPR efforts, the emergency services tragically pronounced him dead at the scene. Specialist officers from the Metropolitan Police are providing ongoing support to Okechukwu’s family.

A post-mortem examination conducted on April 10 at Haringey Mortuary determined that his cause of death was a stab wound to the chest. A 28-year-old man was subsequently arrested in Croydon on April 22 under suspicion of murder and is currently in custody at a north London police station. Additionally, on April 10, a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder but has been released with no further action.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command is spearheading the investigation and urged anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward. Individuals can provide information to the police by calling 101 or contacting @MetCC and quoting reference CAD 1387/07Apr. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be shared with Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
