Runners have been diligently preparing for months to participate in the London Marathon, where they will also be fundraising for various charities. Last year, in 2023, the London Marathon returned to its traditional April slot after being rescheduled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Originally slated for April, the marathon was rescheduled to October due to the pandemic, resulting in participants facing autumnal weather instead of the usual spring conditions.

Now, the London Marathon is back in April just a few weeks away. Whether you’re running the full 26 miles or showing your support, find out the specific date for this year’s event. The 2024 London Marathon is set to take place on Sunday, April 21.

Established in 1981, the London Marathon has grown to become one of the most renowned marathons globally, showcasing iconic London landmarks along its route such as Buckingham Palace, The Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge, and Canary Wharf. The marathon is scheduled to begin at 9:30 am and will span the entire day throughout the city.

Although the ballots for the marathon have closed, individuals can still participate through charity placements or by taking part in the virtual London Marathon.
