Destiny Oladipo, Margate’s recent signing, received a red card after receiving two yellow cards within six minutes of the match. Enfield took the lead with Oliver Knight’s goal ten minutes later, while Steve Cawley’s penalty just before halftime leveled the score at 1-1. Despite Margate hitting the post twice and having multiple attempts cleared off the line, the game ended in a draw.

Manager Gavin Macpherson expressed his disappointment, stating that it felt like two points dropped but acknowledged Margate’s resilience and effort. He praised his team for creating chances and improving their structure in the second half. Macpherson highlighted the challenge of playing against 10 men and emphasized the need to exploit the space on the pitch effectively.

The match marked Town’s third game in five days, following recent victories in the Fenix Trophy and the Isthmian League. Enfield made only two changes to the lineup, with Knight coming close to scoring before eventually finding the net. Despite Margate’s numerical disadvantage, they had opportunities to score, with Cawley converting a penalty before halftime.

Enfield showed more urgency in the second half, with several scoring chances created. Margate’s defense and goalkeeper, Seaden, were resilient in thwarting Enfield’s attacking efforts. The match ended without a winning goal, leaving Enfield in third place in the standings with a comfortable lead in the playoff positions.

In other matches, Enfield suffered a 4-1 defeat to Gorleston, with Sam Bantick scoring the only goal from a penalty. On a more positive note, Enfield Borough secured a crucial 3-2 victory in the Eastern Counties League First Division South, with goals from Kyle Finlayter-Lynch, Marco Magunga, and Mario Stavrou, moving them up the table.
