Teenager Fatally Stabbed in Edmonton in 2023 Identified as Taye Faik

Taye Faik, a 16-year-old from Edmonton, tragically lost his life in 2023 due to a fatal stabbing near his home. The incident occurred on Sunday, October 1, with authorities responding to the scene on Kendal Gardens at 11.27 pm. Despite prompt emergency services, Taye succumbed to his injuries at the location. A subsequent post-mortem examination revealed that he passed away from sharp force trauma to the chest.

The individuals charged with Taye’s murder are Josiah James Sempter, 18, from Cromie Close in Edmonton, Bernard Carroll, 21, from Church Street in Edmonton, and a 16-year-old girl whose identity is protected by law. Taye’s family, notably his uncle Altough Faik, expressed their devastation and fond memories of the young man. Taye is remembered as a bright and joyful individual with a promising future ahead of him. The family also emphasizes the need for an end to knife violence in the community.
